Airports Operations & Maintenance Manager

Job Description:
This position assists the Airport Director with all administrative, supervisory, and
technical functions associated with operating a FAA Part 139 airport.
Directs and manages airside and landside operations, maintenance, security, ground
transportation and terminal services. Performs as primary liaison with FAA officials and
maintains the Airport Certification Manual (ACM). Functions as the primary Airport
Security Coordinator and security liaison with local law enforcement, military security
forces, and TSA officials. Responsible for implementation of the Airport Security Program
(ASP) and compliance with Part 1542 related activities. Manages Airport Emergency Plan
(AEP) and coordinates airport related requirements with emergency services providers.
Coordinates civil aircraft rescue and fire fighting services through Eglin Fire
Department. Manages procedures and communication protocols of the Airport Operations
Center (AOC).
Ensures the instruction and training of staff in methods and procedures, proper use of
equipment, proper cleaning methods, preventive maintenance, and repair of facility
equipment and structures when applicable. Coordinates construction activities with the
Airports Project Manager to ensure fulfillment of FAA advisory circulars and safety
standards. Inspects runways, taxiways, airfields, safety areas, approach zones, terminals,
perimeter fence lines and grounds to ensure various standards. Conducts airfield
inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in aviation management or related field; supplemented by minimum
four (4) years progressively responsible experience at a commercial (Part 139) service or
military joint-use airport with an FAA operating certificate; or an equivalent combination
of education, training, and experience. Must be computer literate. Requires a valid driver
license. In accordance with Part 1542, incumbent must successfully complete a security and
personal background check prior to employment and be eligible for ASC designation. Must be
computer literate. Requires a valid driver license.
