Director - Aviation
City of Tallahassee, Aviation Department
Salary: Currently under review, until complete
annual salary may not exceed $137,592.00

This is responsible managerial work directing the operation, maintenance and security of the City’s regional airport. Work involves responsibility for the efficient and economical management, operation and maintenance of the airport and coordination of airport activities with federal and state agencies. Work is performed under the administrative direction of an Assistant City Manager.

Minimum Training and Experience:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in airport management, public or business administration or a related field and seven years of administrative and managerial experience, three of which must have included airport facilities administration and management, and at least one of the following: long range airport planning, airport marketing, and contracts negotiations and administration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Three years of the required experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Assistant Director - Aviation

City of Tallahassee, Aviation Department
Salary:  Up to $118,684.80 annually

Hiring rate will generally not exceed $91,187.20

This is responsible managerial and professional work directing the financial, administrative, planning and air service development activities of the Aviation Department; assisting in the day to day direction of the department; and serving as department director as needed.  An employee in this class has on-going contact with the public, media, officials of county, state and federal organizations, and contracted service providers. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Director-Aviation.

Minimum Training and Experience:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in aviation management, accounting, finance, business or public administration, or a related field and six years of professional and administrative experience in aviation management, finance, accounting, or administration.  Three years of the required experience must have been in a supervisory capacity in an airport environment.
