PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Traveling isn’t always easy, and it can be especially difficult for those with disabilities.
That’s why the Pensacola International Airport is participating in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. The global initiative offers travelers in need a sunflower lanyard to wear during their travels.
“Over 300 airports world wide now are participating in this. Different business, hotels, amusement parks, airlines and we are so excited to bring it to Pensacola,” Todd Payne, assistant director of strategy and development for the Pensacola International Airport, said.
The lanyard lets airport staff know that someone might need a little extra support navigating through the airport.
“They know to go to them and say ‘hey is there anything that we can do to assist you.’ Real simple but a great, great program,” Payne said.
